Whenever making major changes to your site, such as updating plugins or the WordPress core, it is important to make sure your forms are still functioning as expected. Newfangled does everything we can to ensure that the functionality provided by the Newfangled Plugin Suite is as compatible with as many different environments and scenarios as possible. But every combination of WordPress theme and plugins is unique, and if an incompatibility *were* to happen, you want to catch it as soon as possible, so Newfangled can help you address it.
We suggest that when making updates to your site, you always run through a basic review of all forms.
First, make a list of all the form “types” on your site. Typically, this will include:
- Contact
- Opportunity forms (e.g. Let’s Talk, Schedule a Demo, etc.)
- Smart CTAs on the Insights Page
- Inline CTAs on the Insights Page
- Content Upgrades
- Gated Content (e.g. White Papers)
- Webinars
Then, perform the following steps for each form:
- Open a new incognito/private browser window.
- Go to the page containing the form.
- If you have the Newfangled Privacy Manager plugin installed, select an EU country (such as Austria) from the country dropdown.
- Try to submit the form–you should expect to see validation errors.
- Fill in the form, making sure to check the ‘agree to privacy notice’ field if visible.
- Confirm you see the confirmation message or corresponding post-form content for gated content forms.
