The Newfangled Gated Content plugin allows you to designate certain posts as ‘Gated’ and/or configure a custom post type(s) to always be ‘Gated’ (e.g. Whitepapers). On initial page load, gated posts will only display the main content on the page followed by a content gate form. The form is set globally in WordPress under Settings > Newfangled Gated Content. The sidebar widget area (Appearance > Widgets > Insights Detail Pages Sidebar) will be hidden when the form has not yet been filled out by the prospect.
Once the form is submitted, the page will reload and display a different field called ‘Protected Content’, along with the sidebar widget area. After a prospect completes the form on a gated post, they will be cookied and will not be prompted to fill that form out again for that particular piece of content. However, other gated posts on the site *will* require a new form submission for the prospect to access the ‘Protected Content’ of the post.
Note that there is an option in the plugin settings to have the main content of the page display after the form. If this is selected, you will see an custom field called ‘Intro Content’ instead of ‘Protected Content’ when adding a gated post, and that field will display on the page before the content gate form. This option can be necessary when using a page builder plugin.
