Insight Engine Spam Filtering

The Insight Engine also has built-in spam-filtering, which you can enable for your account under ‘My Settings’ by checking the ‘Auto-hide’ spam checkbox.

This uses the same Akismet method described above but is processed in the Insight Engine, not the site. If a visitor’s conversion is detected to be spam, they will be automatically flagged as ‘hidden.’ These can be seen (and un-hidden) if needed under Leads > Hidden.

This method is ideal if you don’t (or can’t) implement one of the other two spam filtering methods. If using this method, you’ll need to be sure to periodically review the ‘hidden’ leads to unflag any valid visitors. If you are using one of the methods outlined in the two previous articles, you can disable this filtering in the Insight Engine.
